REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Repeat prescriptions may be issued for regular medication as arranged by your doctor.
In order to provide a safe and accurate service we would request that orders for repeat prescriptions are made using online the Patient Services system. You may also request a repeat prescription person at the prescription desk, or by leaving your repeat prescription request slip in the prescription box in reception, or by post enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, or fax to 02890 395788.
Only if these methods are not possible, (e.g. for housebound patients) then requests for repeat prescriptions may be made by telephone to 02890 421880 after 10.00am and before 1.00pm.
Please avoid telephoning on Mondays for routine prescriptions as the telephone lines are extremely busy with more urgent requests for appointments or queries.
Please note that we require up to 72 hours to process your request for repeat medication whether it is ordered in person, by leaving your request slip, online, by post, by fax or by telephone.
Please plan ahead when ordering your prescription so that you do not run out of your medication.
If you have your prescription dispensed by a regular pharmacist, the pharmacist may be able to collect your prescription on your behalf. Please ask our receptionist for details.
How to order a repeat prescription
A repeat prescription is one that is for a medication that you take on a regular basis.
Options for ordering are:
• 10am-1pm on the phone.
• Via online services you can order repeat medication as well as pre-booking a telephone consultation. To register for this you need to speak to a receptionist.
• Leaving in a written prescription request (box in the entrance porch).
Once you’ve made a request please allow 72hrs before collecting the medication from your nominated pharmacy.
Please don’t order if more than one week in advance of running out unless there is a specific reason to do so.
Hospital chits for new medication need 24hrs to turnaround, even if urgent.
Please remember to be polite to our staff. Thank you for your patience.
